Michael Porter on Enhancing UAE's Competitiveness
ECC Hosts World Renowned Authority on Strategy and National Competitiveness to Address UAE’s Public and Private Sectors
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended a lecture on the UAE's competitiveness, which was organised by the Emirates Competitiveness Council at Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi today.
Professor Michael Porter from the Emirates Competitiveness Council delivered the lecture which was also attended by Cabinet members and more than 350 employees from the first, second and third tiers.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for the council to have better presence locally and abroad, in order to achieve the federal government's objectives while focusing on how best to develop national capacities to employ them in the service of the country.
The lecture highlighted a number of factors that affect the nation's competitiveness, in addition to providing methods to use the concept in public institutions, countries and among individuals.
Secretary General of the Emirates Competitiveness Council Abdullah Nasser Lootah, said that the aim of holding such a forum was to highlight the role of public institutions in the country.
He added that it was necessary to preserve achievements in light of regional and international competition, while brainstorming over the best methods to further develop future competitive strategy to boost UAE's position on the world map.
